My four years in high school has been a very interesting and fun experience for me. Overall, I feel like I have been eqquiped for not only college, but also life as a whole. High school taught me many things, both academically and emotoonally. I learned how to effectively communicate with others and how to work under pressure. What I learned in Southeast Career Technical Academy have shaped me into the person that I am today.
When I first applied to Southeast Career Technical Academy I wanted to be in the medical field. That is why I choose Nursing Assistant as my major. My initial feelings when I started high school were surprise, embarrasment and insecurity. During my freshmen year I learned a lot of medical terminolgy and then during my sophomere year I learned the anatomy and physiology of the body. My senior year I learned to follow procedures and how to communicate with patients. In my CNA classes, I learned about infection control, taking vital signs and delivering personal care. I also learned a lot of communication skills and patients rights.
Throughout all of my years in high school, as I took the required classes I learned many things. I have learned about my weaknesses and strenghts, personal qualities and habits. I also learned how to use efficient learning techniques.
During high school I also joined many clubs and sports. I joined HOSA, Skills USA, Varsity quiz, basketball, softball, etc. This clubs helped me develop my social skills. I had the opportunity to connect with other people who share similar interests. I aslo made many friends and this clubs helped me strenthen leadership skills. HOSA and Skills USA helped decide what I wanted to become in the future. I expolred muy interest and created a broader perspective. I also boosted my academic performace and learned something new everyday after school.
My high school experience has been very challenging and exciting. I have learned many things that will help me in life and I feel that I would be ready to overcome any obstacle I may face.
